A dispersal order will be in place in Canvey this weekend following dangerous street racing near to Roscommon Way last week.
Dispersal orders are put in place to protect members of the community and their safety and wellbeing.
Car cruising events often have very few safety measures in place, so not only are they anti-social for those who live around the area, but they are a very real danger to those attending these events.
The dispersal order will be in place from 3pm this afternoon, Friday August 6, to 6am on Sunday August 8. During this time officers will be able to move anyone on from the area if they are believed to be involved in crime, anti-social behaviour or disorder.
The order covers the map above, which includes: Roscommon Way, Canvey Road, Haven Road, Romainville Way and Northwick Road.
Anyone who experiences antisocial behaviour should report it. You can submit a report online at https://www.essex.police.uk or use the ‘Live Chat’ button to speak to an online operator between 7am-11pm or call 101.
