Don Mclean comes to the Cliffs

Legendary songwriter Don McLean celebrates 50 years of his classic hit American Pie with a tour that includes a show at Cliffs Pavilion, Southend on September 21, 2022.

Don is one of the most revered and respected songwriters in American history. After paying his dues in the New York club scene in the late ‘60s, he went on to score mega-hits like Vincent.

But it’s his epic breakthrough hit that endures.

American Pie resides in the Library of Congress National Recording Registry, joining less than 500 works including Somewhere Over the Rainbow and is considered to be one of the seminal works of the 20th century.
