Southend is set to join the socially distanced Drive-in entertainment revolution when three popular movies hit the screen at Garon Park at the end of next month.
The films are part of the Sunset Drive In from July 31 to August 2 at the Royal Artillery Way venue, with the films shown throughout the day on a giant LED screen.
Event spokesman Martin James, said: “Lots of Drive in events which use projectors can only show films at night, but we wanted to appeal to the whole family, so we went with LED which works great in daytime too.”
So far three films that you can sing along to are on the schedule – The Greatest Showman, Grease and Bohemian Rhapsody with more to be added shortly including films aimed at children.
Martin added: “We think people are ready to have some fun but we will of course be adhering to the Government guidelines that are in force at the time.”
