NEWLY-PROMOTED Shepherd Neame Essex League Division One side, Old Southendian & Southchurch Cricket Club, have bolstered their ranks with two eye-catching signings ahead on the 2020 campaign.
Linking up with the Garon Park-based side are batsman, Atif Zaffar, and all-rounder, George Kenny.
Zaffar arrives from fellow Shepherd Neame side, Frenford. He has also previously played Premier League cricket in Middlesex and Nottinghamshire and will be a valuable asset to the Old Boys as they look to establish themselves in a higher division following their 2019 title success.
Kenny links up with the Seasiders from Loughborough Town in the Leicestershire Premier League. Handy with both bat and ball, Kenny had been studying at Loughborough University. Speaking to Yellow Sport about the acquisitions, Head Coach, Andy McGarry, said: “Both lads are great signings for us – two players with Premier League experience.
“They will add important depth to our batting as well as to the squad as a whole. Atif and George are looking forward to the challenge of Division One cricket this coming summer.”
