Essex Eagles emphatically returned to winning ways, with Josh Rymell and Feroze Khushi particularly impressing with the bat as Sussex Sharks were brushed aside by 97 runs at The Cloudfm County Ground Chelmsford.

Rymell hit 78 off 96 balls, while Khushi’s stock also continues to rise – the 22-year-old scoring 77 off 87 as Essex racked up 321/8 – Adam Wheater chipping in with a half-century – David Wiese, Danial Ibrahim

and Will Beer each taking two wickets for the visitors.

Ryan ten Doeschate took centre-stage with the ball, taking 4/34, while Jack Plom (3/52) and Simon Harmer (2/29) ensured a satisfactory outcome for the Chelmsford crowd. 

Essex Eagles return to Royal London One Day Cup action on Thursday, August 12 when they take on Lancashire at the Emirates Old Trafford (11am).
