Inspired by a maiden senior century from Josh Rymell, Essex Eagles thrashed Yorkshire Vikings by 129-runs at Chelmsford to book a Royal London One Day Cup semi-final tie with Glamorgan.
20-year-old Rymell produced a mature and exciting inning’s reaching 121 off 130 balls – a knock which included fifteen 4s and a 6 during his 128-minutes in the middle – eventually falling to a delivery from George Hill.

Hill took 3/51 for Yorkshire. However, the chase was always going to be a huge task. And so it proved. Skipper Tom Westley (3/33) and Jack Plom (3/34) led the way, while Simon Harmer and Aron Nijjar took two apiece as Essex confirmed a comfortable success.
Matthew Revis offered some resistance, hitting 42 – all to no avail. Essex Eagles now head to Sophia Gardens, Cardiff for the last four tie on Monday, August 16 (11am).
