Earls Hall United back in training as the ‘stay at home’ rule is eased

Earls Hall United was amongst the local football clubs swiftly back into action after the ‘stay at home’ rule came to an end in England, allowing groups to meet outdoors.

The Bornbes Green-based side, who run teams in the Southend Borough & District Football Combination and Veterans leagues, returned to full training on Monday evening with the session well attended by more than forty players.

Speaking to Yellow Sport, United boss, Ronnie Docherty, enthused: “It was a great feeling to finally return to grassroots football.

“We were so pleased to get such a good turnout from within the club, with a number of the clubs’ veterans also in attendance.

Docherty continued: “Overall, it was a very good session – a great workout for everyone, although I’d imagine following weeks of inactivity there will be a few aching limbs over the next few days.”
