EASST grant a huge boost to Leigh Road Baptist Church Tennis Club

Leigh Road Baptist Church Tennis Club expressed their gratitude and delight after receiving a £5,000 grant from EASST (Essex and Southend Sports Trust), allowing them to update their existing Victory Path clubhouse facilities.

The historic club – founded in 1948 and catering for tennis enthusiasts of all ages and abilities – has installed a modern kitchen and other improvements. LRBCTC Chairman, Simon Joyce, told Yellow Sport; “The Club is thriving at the moment with new members joining every week and we are grateful for the grant received from EASST.

“The club now has a modern kitchen and an updated clubhouse, whilst maintaining the original character. “

Meanwhile, EASST Chairman of Trustees, Trust Peter Butler added: “EASST trustees support a wide range of sports clubs in Essex and East London to improve their facilities especially when they have strong youth sections. We are therefore pleased to support the clubhouse improvements at Leigh Road Baptist Tennis Club.”
