BETVICTOR Isthmian League Premier Division outfit, East Thurrock United have announced former player, Steve Wiseman, as their new chairman.

The one-time defender, who also represented Canvey Island, Dagenham and Basildon United, has been appointed after Brian Mansbridge retired from the role amidst a whole host of changes at the popular Rookery Hill club.

Meanwhile, The Rocks have also filled the vice-chairman and secretary positions, naming former Southend Manor chairman, Steve Robinson, in the role.

Jean Walker steps into the position of treasurer – formerly occupied by Christine Coventry – while ground maintenance will now be carried out by another former Rocks favourite, Glen Case. The former goalkeeper made a club record 642 appearances during his playing days.

The club are yet to name a successor to manager, John Coventry, who stood down from the post after almost thirteen years in the hot seat.
