Again, the weather ultimately was the winner, but not before Adnan Akram had hit a breezy unbeaten 72 for Wanstead & Snaresbrook at Castle Park.

Jonathan Das fell just short f his half-century as the East Londoners posted a competitive score of 248/7 – Charlie Watts impressing for Colchester with the ball, taking 4/49.

The Colchester innings was 25 balls old when rain had the players scurrying for cover and ultimately ending the days play.
