Jon Edwards hit 105 and Oliver Wagstaff 90 to lay the foundations for Leigh On Sea’s comfortable victory over Southend On Sea & EMT at Chalkwell Park.

Edwards’ knock came off 96 deliveries and included sixteen boundaries as the home side posted a sizable 314/6 – Romando Browne taking 2/54 on what was a tough day for the Southend attack.

Shaun Grant’s 73 and a half-century from Browne provided some resistance from the Southchurch Park club. However, Matt Wagstaff with 2/24, coupled with two wickets apiece for TJ Bailey and Joe Sexton helped Leigh over the line with some to spare.
