Detectives are appealing for witness following a burglary last night in Dungannon Drive, Southend.
Police were called at around 9.30pm on Thursday May 7 to reports that two men had forced entry to a property.
The occupant a man in his 90s was assaulted but managed to get away, without any serious injuries.
He is now being supported by his family.
One of the men has been described as 6ft 6in tall, of a large build the second man was slightly smaller, both men were dressed in black and wearing face coverings.
