Elderly man injured in assault on car park in Benfleet

Detectives investigating a serious assault in Benfleet are asking for witnesses to contact them.

The assault was reported to have taken place in the Aldi car park, Rushbottom Lane, at around 1.15pm on Tuesday February 7.

Following an altercation with a man in the car park, the victim, a man in his 70s, was punched to the face and head, causing visible bruising and a serious back injury.

The suspect left in a black Jaguar car.
