Detectives are investigating after an elderly woman was injured after a bag snatch robbery in Havering.
Police were called at around 15:15hrs on Thursday, 19 December after the lady, in her 70s, was found injured on the floor in Station Road, junction with Queens Park Road, Harold Wood.
She had been approached by a man on a bicycle who grabbed her bag without warning and pulled her to the floor before fleeing with it.
The victim was taken to hospital, where she was found to have sustained a fracture to her humerus and shoulder.
Detective Constable Alice Milne, of the East Area Command Unit, said: “This was a nasty attack on a lone elderly woman who was out in broad daylight going about her daily life.
“We are working to source any images of the suspect from CCTV but initial descriptions are of a white male, aged in his 20s, who was wearing a black coat and riding a black bike.
“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident, please do call us immediately. It is very likely the suspect may be local and we would urge anyone who thinks they know something to speak to us.”
Anyone who has information, video or images that could assist police are asked to call 101 ref CAD 4648/19 Dec.
