Essex Police hunts armed robbers who held up Pitsea food truck

POLICE are hunting two men believed to have held up a food truck at gunpoint in the early hours of this morning.

The men, who covered their faced with scarves, entered the truck via the back door in Ashlyns, Pitsea, at half-past-midnight on Wednesday, September 18.

They threatened workers with ‘what was believed to be a gun’.

One of the staff members was hit with a metal bar and had to go to hospital.

The robbers made off with a ‘four-figure sum of cash’.

Both men were described as white, around 5’10” tall and wearing dark clothing.

Essex Police urged anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious, or who may have relevant CCTV footage, to dial 101, ask for Basildon CID and quote crime reference number 42/149211/19.
