Essex Police signs up a dozen new volunteer officers

TWELVE new special constables have received their warrant cards in a ceremony at Essex Police headquarters in Chelmsford.

The volunteer police officers were watched by family and friends at the attestation ceremony, which took place on Monday, November 11.

One of the new specials will be posted to Basildon, one to Chelmsford and one to Rayleigh.

The others will go to Brentwood, Colchester and Braintree.

Essex Police said it had the second-largest special constabulary in the UK and was still recruiting.
