Essex’s under-15s taste double success at Garon Park

Essex’s talented under-15s recorded victories over Northamptonshire and Cambridgeshire in a round-robin friendly tournament staged at the Peter Butler Oval, Garon Park, Southend.

Essex edged out Northants by thirteen runs, with Aayush Baluja top-scoring with 43 as the hosts posted 115 for eight in a fixture played in the hundred-ball format.

The Northants chased fell just short, with Nath scoring 23. Jack Parrish was the pick of the Essex bowlers, returning figures of three for 17 of twenty balls.

Cambridgeshire were then beaten by 39 runs, with Baluja again impressing with the bat, scoring 72 off 42 balls, a knock which included six 4s and four 6s.

Shahariyar Chaudhry was also amongst the runs, hitting 60 from 58. Aayush Salil then claimed 2/17 as the visitors were restricted to 97.

Northamptonshire comfortably won their clash with Cambridgeshire by 75 runs. Bowler Hoyle provided the standout performance of the match, taking 4/8 from his 20 balls, fourteen of which were dots.
