Humayan Razzaq moved the score along, finishing unbeaten on 51 (retired out), while Colwill chipped in with 40 – the pair forging a partnership of 89. Benfleet’s Dave Jarrett added 15 as the League XI closed on 170/7 – Holmes (2/20), Jack Broad (2/30) and Liam Warren (1/10) performing notably with the ball for Canewdon.
