Family of man killed in Redbridge collision appeal for witnesses to come forward

The family of a man killed in a collision in Redbridge have appealed for anyone with information about the collision to come forward and speak to police.

Officers were called at approximately 9.20p,on Friday, December 17 to Hainault Road, Redbridge, after a collision involving a motorcyclist and an Audi TT.

The motorcyclist, Saleem Ahmed, who was aged 20, died at the scene.

The driver of the Audi TT made off from the scene on foot.

One arrest has been made in connection with the incident.

Detectives from the Met’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit (SCIU) are investigating.

Saleem’s mother said:“It is extremely hard to put into words the effect of losing Saleem has had on our family. We are struggling to process his death, especially in these circumstances. I would ask anyone who has information about the incident, please speak to the police. Please do the right thing, for Saleem and our family”.

Detective Sergeant Eddie Coleman, leading the investigation, said: “This is an incredibly tragic incident that has left a family devastated.

“If anyone has any information in relation to this fatal collision, please come forward and speak to police.
