Fatal collision in Southend

Police are investigating following a fatal collision in Southend during the early hours of this morning, where the vehicle involved failed to stop.

Officer were called to Southchurch Road in Southend towards Shoeburyness at around 1am following reports of a collision involving a car and a pedestrian. The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene.

The car involved, believed to be light in colour, failed to stop at the scene.

Anyone who may have witnessed anything or could have any dashcam or CCTV which could assist with this investigation can submit a report on the police website or use the online Live Chat service available Monday to Friday (excluding public holidays) between 10am-9pm.
