Five charged over shooting incident in North Weald

Five people have been charged after a series of warrants and arrests were carried out by officers from teams across Essex Police.

On Thursday February 29 officers from the Operational Support Group and Serious Organised Crime Unit executed six warrants across the county and over the border into London.

It follows an investigation into reports of a firearm being shot at a vehicle in High Road, North Weald, at around 1am on Sunday February 12 2023.

Charges have since been authorised against:

  • Michael Kadiri, 26, of Danbury Road, Loughton, charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence, conspiracy to possess ammunition.
  • Jay Hunt, 19, Auriel Avenue, Dagenham, charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. conspiracy to possess ammunition, candling stolen goods and possession of an offensive weapon in a private place.
  • Rocco Coakley, 20, of Brook Road, Loughton, charged with charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. conspiracy to possess ammunition
  • Humberto Frade, 18, of Fords Park Road, London, E16, charged with conspiracy to possess a firearm with intent to cause fear of violence. conspiracy to possess ammunition.
  • Kyle Kadiri, 21, of Danbury Road, Loughton, charged with being concerned in the supply of a cocaine, being concerned in the supply of a Class B drug and possession with intent to supply Class A and B drugs.

They appeared at Chelmsford Magistrates on Saturday March 2 and were given conditional bail.
