Police are investigating following a serious assault in Southchurch Avenue, Southend, in the early hours of this morning, Wednesday October 30.
A man aged in his 30s suffered serious burn injuries, which are believed to be life-changing, and he remains in hospital for treatment.
Four people have been arrested in connection with the attack, which police are treating as a targeted incident.
A 52-year-old man from Southend, 32-year-old man from Grays, and a 39-year-old man of no fixed address, have all been arrested on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm. A 51-year-old woman from Westcliff has been arrested on suspicion of the same offence and, in addition, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.
