Great Wakering lost ground on the promotion -places as Rainham recorded a nine-run victory and leapfrogged their visitors in the process following a tight encounter at Spring Farm Park.

Garnet Shallow provided the foundation of Rainham’s 166/8, hitting 52. Meanwhile, Dipal Patel chipped in with 25 – Cameron Butcher, Dan Deadman and Mayhew each claiming two wickets.

Great Wakering remained in contention – Prichard’s 56 a highlight. However, with others falling relatively cheaply, while Dipal Patel (3/31) and Tyler Bunn (3/38) did significant damage, the villagers were to fall short and slip to fourth in the table nineteen points off the top two.
