Gunners too strong for learning Lilywhites

Tottenham Hotspur v Arsenal – Mind Series – Tottenham Hotspur Stadium – Report

Tottenham Hotspur 0-4 Arsenal

Arsenal’s strong second-half showing left daylight between themselves and hosts Spurs as the clubs’ women’s teams went head-to-head as part of the Mind Series double-header at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.

Spurs competed reasonably well before the interval, although the Gunners always appeared the more likely.

Indeed, Alex Hennessey headed Arsenal in front ten minutes before the break following sterling work from Beth Mead and Anna Patten.

But the Gunners class told in the final quarter of an hour. Katie McCabe doubled their lead after Scarlett Williams had felled Beth Mead, then Pattern added third with a fizzing effort which went in off an upright.

Alex Hennessey added a fourth from close range as Arsenal’s superiority and strength in depth continued to expose their hard-working hosts.
