An impressive unbeaten 83 from Oliver Smith went some way towards Hadleigh & Thundersley finishing their Premier Division campaign with a five-wicket victory over Hornchurch at John Burrows Park.
Smith’s knock was complemented by 63 from wicketkeeper/batsman Darius Vapiwala as the hosts got home with thirteen balls to spare.
Adeel Malik (2/36) was the pick of eight bowlers utilised by Hornchurch. Earlier, Malik had hit 95 0ff 84 balls, helping his side to 219 – Adam Dobson, Ishen Patel, Adam Forbes and Haider Ali Syed Zaidi all taking two wickets apiece for the victorious hosts.
