Half-time at the London Stadium: West Ham United 0-2 Newcastle United

West Ham has been as poor as Newcastle were good during the opening 45 minutes.

The Magpies opened the scoring when Ciaran Clarke headed high beyond Roberto, this after a perfectly delivered Jonjo Shelvey free-kick had been nodded back across goal by Joelinton.

It was swiftly two. Federico Fernandez reacted quickly while Roberto dithered in no mans land – heading into an empty net  – this time Jetro Willems the provider.

It’s difficult to see a way back for West Ham – the home crowd making their feelings known, booing the team off at the half-time whistle.
