The old adage stating that possession is nine-tenths of the law providing hugely inaccurate, as it has all too frequently for Spurs recently.

The home side has seen plenty of the ball but done very little with it. Meanwhile, Watford ruthlessly took their only notable chance of the half. Abdoulaye Doucoure arriving unmarked and suppling a tidy finish, this after Daryl Janmaat had picked him out from the right.

The atmosphere is uneasy – Spurs need a goal – little sign of either changing at the moment!
