Hammers continue to evolve under Moyes

West Ham United v Tottenham Hotspur – Premier League – London Stadium – Reaction

West Ham United 1-0 Tottenham Hotspur

Three priceless Premier League points – Derby bragging rights – And no sign of a Europa League hangover. Michail Antonio provided the golden moment – it couldn’t have gone any better for David Moyes as his West Ham United side saw off Tottenham Hotspur and moved up to fourth in the Premier League table.

Manchester United and Brentford inflicted defeats upon Moyes’ men immediately after European matches. The Scotsman was delighted to buck the trend against their traditional capital rivals.

“I don’t think it’s easy in whatever league to win three games in a week,” Moyes explained.

“We’ve had to play Sunday, Thursday, Sunday and to pick up three results is great credit, again.

Moyes continued: “I just think the players have done a great job, not just the players today but the squad of players have done a great job because I needed them in midweek.

“We are still getting used to it. We’re still trying to find the right balance and the right blend in all the games to try and get things right. I didn’t think we were fatigued today we were just up against a strong Tottenham team who have big threats and we found a way of winning in a different way than last week.

“We had so much of the ball at Everton, but still only scored one goal from a set-piece and today we might have had a bit less of the ball to you but we still found a way of getting a goal.”
