Hammers cruise to victory in Vienna

SK Rapid Vienna v West Ham United – UEFA Europa League – Allianz Stadion – Report

SK Rapid Vienna 0-2 West Ham United

West Ham United progressed to the knockout stages of the UEFA Europa League as group winners after easing to a 2-0 victory over SK Rapid Vienna at the Allianz Stadion.

David Moyes made eight changes to his starting line-up following last weekends’ rare Premier League setback at Wolverhampton Wanderers.

The East Londoners never really looked troubled throughout the contest. Andriy Yarmolenko headed home a delicious Nikola Vlašić cross to open the scoring six minutes before the break.

And the job was completed in first-half stoppage-time. Mark Noble dispatching from the penalty spot after Yarmolenko had been tripped by Hofmann.

Jarrod Bowen and teenage debutant Sonny Perkins went close to adding to the Hammers tally. West Ham United now turn their attention back to the Premier League where they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, November 28 (2pm).
