West Ham United have moved quickly to bolster their ranks ahead of the 2021/22 FA Women’s Super League season by announcing the signing of experienced Australian international midfielder, Tameka Yallop.
The 29-year-old has been capped 82 times by her country since arriving in the professional game at Brisbane Roar in 2008.
Having formerly played under Hammers boss, Olli Harder, at Klepp IL, the New South Wales-born player is looking forward to the challenge provided by the FAWSL: “I’m super excited to be coming over and playing in the Women’s Super League,” Yallop told whufc.com.
“It’s a league that’s been getting stronger and stronger over the last couple of years and I’m excited to have the chance of playing in the competition for West Ham United.
Meanwhile, boss Harder added: “We’re extremely pleased to have Tameka on board for the upcoming season.
“She is somebody that I know well, brings a lot of professionalism and athleticism, and is a top-class player.
“We’re looking for people that will represent West Ham United in the best possible light and inspire the next generation of female footballers in our community – I believe that Tameka ticks all of those boxes.”
