Simon Harmer has been selected in South Africa’s seventeen-man squad for their forthcoming tour to New Zealand.
The Essex spinner has become a fans favourite at Chelmsford. He was instrumental in what has been the most successful period in the clubs’ history as they secured four red ball titles and claimed an inaugural T20 Blast success in 2019.
The 32-year-old has taken 308 first-class wickets since joining the club in 2017 at an average of 29.40.
Victor Mpitsang, CSA Convenor of Selectors, enthused: “The inclusions of Simon (Harmer) and Lutho (Sipamla) reaffirm our intentions, as a panel, to reward excellence on the field and the pair have let their work speak on their behalf this past season.”
