Rubbish and recycling collection times will change across Havering next week in order to protect staff as temperatures continue to soar.

From Monday July 18 through to Friday July 22, collections will start one hour earlier than usual from 6am.

This will help contractors Serco and their crews to work in lower temperatures earlier in the day and try to avoid the most intense heat later.

Residents should have their bags out ready for collection for 6am on the day of their normal collection. We thank residents for their support and understanding and aim to keep disruption to a minimum.
