Hockley shopkeeper threatened at knifepoint

A SHOPKEEPER was threatened at knifepoint on Tuesday evening in Hockley.

Essex Police has issued a plea for witnesses to come forward after a man held up the SS Convenience Store in Plumberow Avenue.

The crook entered the store shortly before 7pm, threatened the shopkeeper and demanded they open and empty the till.

But, said police, when he realised there were other members of staff in the store, he fled empty-handed.

The would-be robber was described as white, slim and in his late teens or early 20s. He wore a grey tracksuit.

Anyone with information, or who might have relevant CCTV or dash cam footage, was asked to dial 101 and quote incident number 970 of November 26.

Alternatively, call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
