Hornchurch man dies after collision on A127

A man has died after being involved in a collision on the A127 yesterday, Monday April 25.

The 88-year-old, from Hornchurch, sustained serious injuries as a result of the collision at Childerditch, near Brentwood.

The road remained closed until shortly after 6.30pm yesterday evening.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs.

He has been released under investigation.

Police continue to appeal for anyone who witnessed the incident or has dash cam footage of it to contact them as soon as possible.
