Hornchurch through at Bowers while Barking hit six

Emirates FA Cup first qualifying round-up

A number of the region’s clubs were involved in Emirates FA Cup first qualifying round ties on Tuesday evening.

A crowd of 242 turned out at the Len Salmon Stadium to see visitors’ Hornchurch progress with a 3-0 victory over Bowers & Pitsea. Ellis Brown gave the Urchins a first-half lead before Charlie Stimson and Ellis Brown struck after the break to confirm their success.

Barking proved to be the big-hitters, thrashing Dunstable Town by six goals to one a Mayesbrook Park – Junior Dadson with a hat-trick for the hosts, Gregg Douglas (own-goal), Dumebi GB-Dumaka and Donnell Anderson completing the rout.

Haringey Borough wasn’t far behind, beating Tunbridge Wells 5-1 – Anthony Mcdonald, Laste Dombaxe, Daniel Akindayini, Georgios Aresti and
Adbul-Rasheed Ajani-Salau netting for the North Londoners.
Essex Senior League Stansted went through with a single-goal success at Coggeshall Town – Jack Mitchell netting on the stroke of half-time.

Canvey Island are also through. First-half goals from Conor Hubble and Elliott Ronto enough to earn a 2-0 victory at Dereham Town.

Walthamstow required penalties to edge through after their all-Essex Senior League clash with St Margaretsbury ended goalless.

East Thurrock United’s dream of a cup run is over for another year after they slipped to a 1-0 defeat at Potters Bar Town.
