Horse dies in collision on A127

The A127 has now been reopened following a collision in the early hours of this morning.

Police were called to the A127, close to A130 junction at around 2:45am on Sunday January 21 following reports of a collision involving a van and a horse, which was loose on the road.

The driver of the van was uninjured. The horse died at the scene.

The Southend bound side was temporarily closed between the A1245 and the A132 junctions and was opened at around 8:30am.

Other horses were also on the road but were thankfully uninjured.
