Chris Horton enjoyed his day at the seaside, providing a stylish batting performance, leading Billericay’s second string to a comfortable success over their Southend On Sea & EMT counterparts at a warm Southchurch Park.

Skipper Horton led the way with 80 as the visitors posted 237/8 at a humid Southchurch Park – Oliver Maitland took 3/51 and Matthew Mohan claimed two for the home side.

The response never really materialised – Joe Sibbons – 49 – providing the only notable score from a Southend perspective. Christian Mootoo and Alfie Cobden both took two wickets as Billericay recorded their second victory of the season.
