Hutton 3-2 Old Southendian
BRAD FREEMAN’S hat-trick proved decisive as Hutton won this ProKitUK Essex Olympian League Premier Division thriller against Old Southendian at Hall Green Lane.
Freeman struck twice before the interval, then handed his side a three-goal advantage on the resumption, claiming the match-ball, and eventually, the points.
However, the Seasiders hit back through Matt Tonks – who fired home from the edge of the box – and an Ed Gould spot-kick – this after Elliot Hemmings had been felled.
“I think we’d have got something from the game had it gone on for another five minutes,” Old Boys manager, Connor Lane, told Yellow Sport.
“We dominated the second-half but was already 2-0 down – it was a tough ask, especially once the boys had made it three.
Lane added: “We are getting closer towards our first points this season. We are disappointed with how the game finished but we are still growing as a team each week.
“I’m happy with our second-half half performance yesterday. Despite having eleven players unavailable, the team stuck it out to the end.”
