BILLERICAY BLUE made a triumphant return to competitive racing with an impressive performance over the hurdles at Crayford Stadium on Saturday.
Following a lengthy lay-off, Blue – Owned by Billy McMahon and Nick Hutt from the Billericay Town FC consortium and trained by Jim Reynolds – broke level at the first bend but drew clear in style and won by five lengths.
Speaking to Yellow Sport, McMahon enthused: “I was delighted with the run. Blue jumped superbly the whole way round. He needed that blowout and will be much sharper going forward
“Jim Reynolds and the team deserve credit for keeping the dog in superb condition through the lockdown. Me and Nick Hutt was actually training the Billericay Blues under 10’s the time of the race – we paused the session so we could all watch the race on the phone so it was even better that Blue did the business.”
