Impressive Hammers are off to a Europa flyer

Dinamo Zagreb v West Ham United – UEFA Europa League Group H – Maksimir Stadium – Report

Dinamo Zagreb 0-2 West Ham United

West Ham United got their UEFA Europa League Group H campaign off to a flyer with an impressive 2-0 victory over crack Croatian outfit Dinamo Zagreb at the Maksimir Stadium.

The Hammers produced a thoroughly professional display, dominating the contest and taking the lead shortly after the twenty-minute mark when Michail Antonio seized on a horrendous error from Dinamo defender, Kevin Theophile-Catherine before skipping past keeper Dominik Livakovic and rolling into an empty net.

It got better for the 2,000 travelling Hammers supporters five minutes after the restart when Declan Rice marked his Europa League debut with a superb solo strike after retrieving possession and driving at the Dinamo rearguard.

David Moyes handed Hammers debuts to Kurt Zouma and Nikola Vlasic. West Ham United now turn their attention back to the Premier League on Sunday, September 19 when Manchester United visit the London Stadium (2pm).
