Old Southendian 0-2 Leigh Ramblers

LEIGH RAMBLERS proved to be too strong for Old Southendian when the pair went head-to-head in at Garon Park.

Goals from Ryan Lowe and Justin Lowe ensured the Ramblers all three ProKit UK Essex Olympian League points. The visitors could even afford the dismissal of goalkeeper Dylan Skinner after a poor challenge.

Nevertheless, Old Southendian boss, Connor Lane, felt a little hard done by: “I thought one or two of the official’s decisions were questionable, but reflecting, our overall performance was not good enough,” he told Yellow Sport.

“We can make all the excuses in the world but it just wasn’t our day – Ramblers wanted it more than us.

Lane added: “We have improved a lot in the last five weeks – perhaps we were complacent?

“We now need to pick ourselves up ahead of a tough away trip to Harold Wood Athletic next week.”
