TOTTENHAM HOTSPUR duo, Anna Filbey and Rianna Dean, have put pen to paper on new deals with the North London outfit.
Central defender, Filbey, has extended her stay for a further year. The 20-year-old initially arrived from Arsenal and has since flourished both in the FA Women’s Super League as well as on the international stage with Wales.
Speaking to www.tottenhamhotspur.com, Filbey enthused: “I am really happy to have signed a new deal because I’ve loved every minute at Spurs so far.
“Since being here, I feel I have grown massively as a player and learnt a lot. We have a great group of players and staff that all want to succeed and being in that type of environment is one that really motivates me to improve and drives me to want to support my team-mates even more.”
Spurs were handed a further boost when leading goalscorer, Dean, also agreed on another twelve months with the option of another year.
After joining Tottenham from Millwall Lionesses, Dean has become a firm favourite with the fans, netting 27 times in 43 appearances.
The 20-year-old scored on her FAWSL debut as Spurs saw off West Ham United by two unanswered goals in front of a bumper 24,790 crowd and has represented England at under 21 level.
“When committing my future to Spurs, I never had any doubts, I’ve really enjoyed my time at the Club so far and since I arrived, I’ve never looked back,” the Uxbridge-born forward explained.
“I’ve been extremely fortunate and thankful for the opportunities that I’ve had here already, and Karen (Hills) and Juan (Amoros) have really had an impact on me and I feel that I am becoming a better player.
“I just want to help the team and Club as much as I can, master the number nine position and be the best that I can be – I feel I can achieve that here at Spurs.”
