Bath City v Braintree Town – Vanarama National League South – Twerton Park – Report

Bath City 1-2 Braintree Town

In-form Braintree Town recorded their seventh win in succession – their best run in nineteen years – coming from behind to clinch a 2-1 victory over Bath City at Twerton Park to move up into fourth place in Vanarama National League South.

Bristol City loanee Ephraim Yeboah put Bath one up after rounding Jack Sims to score after only sixteen minutes.

Iron got themselves back on equal terms mid-way through the second half when Tom Blackwell’s cross came back out of defence for Aaron Blair to volley home into the bottom corner past keeper Josey Casa-Grande and with Angelo Harrop’s side pushing forward looking for a winner, six minutes before the end Shaq Coulthirst was brought to ground by Casa-Grande with the former Spurs and Southend United striker stepping forward to drill the resultant spot kick into the centre of the net to make it 2-1 and seal the points for Braintree.

Next up for Iron is a trip to Park View Road on Saturday to play Welling United (3pm).
