OLD SOUTHENDIAN LADIES first XI were in sparkling form as Braintree were swept aside at a sunny Warners Bridge.
A marvellous team display saw the Old Girls record a resounding 7-1 success with Beccy Withams scoring twice, while Amy Elvidge, Kate Williams, Emily Robinson, Anna Cooper and Blaise Copeland also netting.
Delighted skipper, Robinson, said: “It was a truly fantastic game and a great one for the crowd.”
The Old Girls second team went down by a goal to nil against their Witham counterparts in what was a hard-fought encounter. Ellen Randall and Ella Mills impressed, as did Player of the Match, Shireen Ayub. Captain, Ros Jackson, explained: “Another good performance from the old girls but not quite finding the edge yet.”
