AN investigation has been launched after roughly 40 firefighters were scrambled to a blaze at a Romford business last night.
The London Fire Brigade said it dispatched six fire engines to a vehicle workshop in Crow Lane at 6.06pm on Monday, November 11.
Firefighters from Dagenham, Ilford, Hornchurch and Walthamstow were among those who rushed to the scene.
They found two single-storey industrial units alight. Ultimately, around half of each unit was damaged by the fire.
Ten people were evacuated and nobody was reported injured.
The fire was brought under control by 7.45pm, a brigade spokesman said.
They added: “The cause of the fire is under investigation.”
