Police are investigating the circumstances behind the death of a man in Southend.
Officers were contacted shortly after 4.25pm on Tuesday December 8 to reports a man had been taken ill at a multi-occupancy address in Southchurch Avenue.
The 50-year-old died shortly after 8am today, Wednesday December 9.
Police are carrying out enquiries into his death, which is being treated as unexplained.
From initial conversations with witnesses, it is thought he may have taken illegal substances before he became ill.
Anyone who was in the area at the time is asked to contact police quoting incident 747 of 8 December.
