It’s always a step into the unknown for Scopes’s Beach Boys

Concord Rangers v Hampton & Richmond Borough – Vanarama National League South – Aspect Arena – Tuesday 7:45pm – Preview

Danny Scopes confessed preparing for matches is a little like going into the unknown with all the uncertainty surrounding the Vanarama National League, the clubs, and which players they are able to field amidst financial issues brought about by the pandemic.

The Beach Boys picked up a superb point on the road at Eastbourne Borough at the weekend and on paper are faced with another tough test when play-off contenders, Hampton & Richmond Borough visit the Aspect Arena on Tuesday evening: “It’s so difficult to prepare when you simply don’t know what sort of side the opposition will be fielding,” Scopes told Yellow Sport.

“With recent events tracking centre stage, I’d expect it to be like this until the season concludes one way or another.

“But it’s important that while we still play we compete for points. We treat every game with a professional attitude. As a management team, that’s what we install throughout the club.

“Our Pre-match preparation for the players remains on point. We must ensure the boys have the right mindset and are ready to compete, whoever they face.”

Scopes concluded: As I said, it is difficult. But we are doing the best we and providing the best account of ourselves for the integrity of the club and the competition.”
