England all-rounder, Ronnie Jackson with both the bat and ball as Essex Cricket Ability recorded a five-wicket D40 Quest victory over their Sussex counterparts on a scorching hot day at Harlow Town’s Ash Tree Field ground

The Essex attack produced an impressive performance, backed up by some superb work in teh field. Jackson returned bowling figures of three for 19, while Lee Wheeler claimed 2/14 and Andrew Mowatt 2/14 as Sussex found themselves restricted to 103. Charlie Ferguson top-scored, finishing unbeaten on 17.

Jackson then took centre stage at the crease, scoring 47 off 30 balls. His innings included eight 4s and one 6. 

James Bunday did his utmost for Sussex, taking 2/21 from his four-over spell. However, it proved insufficient as Essex reached their target inside nineteen overs.
