Wolfsberger v Tottenham Hotspur – UEFA Europa League Round of 32 first-leg – Puskas Arena, Puskas Arena – Thursday 5:55pm – Preview
The good ship Tottenham Hotspur has certainly hit choppy waters of late. The out of sorts Lilywhites have slipped off the pace in the Premier League following a run of four defeats from five outings, while their Emirates FA Cup adventures concluded following a defensive horror show at Goodison Park.
There is little doubt that Jose Mourinho finds himself under pressure. Nevertheless, speaking ahead of Tottenham’s UEFA Europa League Round of 32 first-leg tie with Wolfsberger, the Portuguese chief insisted no stone was left unturned in a bid to turn around the North Londoners flagging fortunes.
“Everything we can, starting with players receiving in their own phones, iPads immediately analysis of all the situations, so they can read, they can analyse by themselves,” Mourinho insisted.
“Then the individual meeting analysing every situation and trying to improve every situation.
Then on the pitch – like we did today – because we come from a little bit of a resting period, we managed to have today and yesterday, two good training sessions.
“Yesterday they had apart from the global session, they had individual work with Ledley (King) and the staff. And then today we had a collective session in relation to the game tomorrow. Work: that’s the only thing that we can do to try to improve.”
Sergio Reguilon remains sidelined, while Hugo Lloris is expected to keep his place in goal despite high-profile mistakes during Tottenham’s defeat at Manchester City last weekend.
