BASILDON residents have just two days left to file their nominations for the borough’s Volunteer Awards.
Categories in the ceremony, laid on by Basildon Council, include the Sunshine Award for 11 to 21-year-olds, and the Community Star award for those aged 21 and over.
Other prizes are the Inspirational Role Model Award, Fundraising Champion, the Long Service Award, the Voluntary Group/Project of the Year Award and the Lifetime Achievement Award.
One of the category winners will then be selected to receive the Tony Guyon Volunteer of the Year Memorial Cup.
Nominations can be submitted at https://www.basildon.gov.uk/volunteerawards.
All the nominees will be invited to a prize-giving ceremony at Woodlands School on October 30, where mayor David Burton-Sampson will hand out the awards.
